Brief Description
The Statewide Instructional Materials Center manages the distribution of braille and large print state adopted textbooks for all students in the state who are blind or visually impaired.
The Instructional Materials Center is managed by the SC School for the Deaf and Blind in partnership with the SC Department of Education Office of Exceptional Children. Our Braille Production Center transcribers are certified in Literary Braille by the U.S. Library of Congress. Additional certifications include Textbook Formatting, Nemeth Code, Proofreading, UEB and Music.
