Brief Description
The Human Resources Branch supports the President and the Treasury Board in its capacity as general manager and employer for the Public Service of Canada by developing, recommending, and implementing the human resources management framework that will provide Canadians with a professional, representative and productive workforce to deliver government programs and services. The framework includes legislation and policies related to job evaluation, compensation, terms and conditions of employment, training and development, labour relations, employment adjustment, human resources framework for alternative service delivery, the pension program, employee benefit and insurance programs, pay equity, employment equity, and official languages. The HRB also provides departments and agencies with policy direction, interpretation and advice.
