Brief Description

GBGB is a subsidiary of The Jewish Guild for the Blind. Comprehensive Adult Day Health Program (ADH) provides nursing supervision, medication management, health education, social work services, vision rehabilitation, therapeutic activities, transportation, and a hot meal. Computer Training provided in GBGB's Adaptive Technology Center includes individual assessment of skills and training needs, and individual or group instruction on adaptive equipment and software. Low vision clinic provides eye examinations, low vision evaluation, prescription and training in use of low vision devices.

  • Information and Referral
    • Collaborates with other blindness, aging and health care providers.

  • Community Outreach Programs
    • Provides group diabetes and vision loss prevention education programs to seniors who have, or are at risk for a vision impairment. Education includes ways to prevent or manage diabetes through nutrition and exercise. Information is also given on types of vision loss, techniques and devices to help people with vision loss to remain independent and safe at home, and on low vision services available in the community. Workshops are also available for those who care for or work with visually impaired people in the community, in all settings.
