What’s new in the 2nd edition book: Access Technology for Blind and Low Vision Accessibility

Description:In this interactive live webinar, author Dr. Ting Siu will take participants on a tour of the new 2nd edition book Access Technology for Blind and Low Vision Accessibility. The tour will: Suggest strategies for using the book; Introduce new philosophies for teaching blind and low vision students; and Demonstrate how to use resources for advocacy and assessment. Participants will be invited to ask questions and engage in a lively discussion about learning and implementing access technology for blind and low vision students.

Target Audience: Teachers, parents, AT specialists, low vision specialists 

Pre-requisite knowledge:  Creativity and sense of fun and adventure 

Lesson Plan Goal:  Participants will learn about information and resources available in the new AT book. 

Learning Objectives:  Participants will identify 3 strategies for utilizing the book; Participants will examine 2 new philosophies for teaching blind and low vision students; Participants will demonstrate how to use book resources for advocating and assessing student unique needs 

Materials Needed:  Personal computing device with internet and speakers

To collect CEUs, please listen for the opening and closing codes during the live session and send these, along with your first and last name, to outreach@aph.org and a certificate will be emailed to you the following week.
