There are many forms of symbol communication systems. Their purpose is to make communication easier for a student with a visual and multiple impairment who has difficulty with spoken language or difficulty using written language. The symbols are often highly individual but are linked to meaning for a particular student who does not have enough vision to use a visual symbol system. We are going to walk through three products by APH, the communication continuum, and the reasons for each step.
