CARRY A LIBRARY IN YOUR POCKET
BARD Mobile makes reading not only more accessible, but also more portable.

Mike Marlin, Director and Laura Kellen, Librarian
from the Braille and Talking Book Library of Northern California (BTBL) will be our guest speakers. They will be discussing the various features of the BARD Mobile App.

The BARD Mobile app allows you to download tens of thousands of books; from current best sellers to much-loved classics, popular magazines, and music instruction and scores in audio and electronic braille formats, directly to their iOS, Android and Kindle Fire devices. In order to use the BARD app, one needs to be a current patron of National Library Service (NLS) and have an email address. The app is completely accessible to visually impaired individuals when used with Zoom or VoiceOver.

BARD Mobile is a service of the NLS that provides free audio, braille reading materials and more to residents of the United States and American citizens living abroad who cannot read standard print. If you are blind or have temporary or permanent low vision or a disability that prevents you from reading or holding the printed page, you may be eligible for this program. Eligible users can enroll in the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) at the Library of Congress. To enroll call 1-888-NLS-READ (1-888-657-7323) and follow the prompts. You can also request enrollment information at https://www.loc.gov/thatallmayread.
