Braille 101 (Babies & Toddlers)
April 12, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT
The number one indicator of a child’s success as a braille reader is having the support of a family member who can read braille. Babies and toddlers benefit significantly from sharing the experience of reading a braille book with their caregivers, and they become more active participants in reading time when a caregiver models following the braille text. In order to do this, parents and caregivers need a basic understanding of the braille code. This workshop will teach the braille alphabet, numbers, basic punctuation, and a few braille contractions.
