Behind the Scenes of the new Foundations of Vision Rehabilitation Therapy Textbook

Description: In this webinar participants will learn about the Foundations of Vision Rehabilitation Therapy textbook, including insights into the production process, content, and approach of rehabilitation.
Instructors: Dr. Helen Lee, Associate professor in the Blindness and Low Vision Studies program at Western Michigan University; Jennifer Ottowitz, CVRT, Senior Learning Expert at Hadley Institute for the Blind & Visually Impaired
Primary Core or ECC Area: Independent Living / Compensatory Access / Assistive Technology / Orientation and Mobility
Target Audience: vision rehabilitation therapists and university faculty in the field of vision rehabilitation, other vision professionals (O&M, TVI, vocational rehabilitation counselors) and other professionals working with people who are visually impaired who need to know about available services and make appropriate referrals.
Pre-requisite knowledge: none
Lesson Plan Goal: Participants will learn about content included in the revised textbook Foundations of Vision Rehabilitation Therapy, which will be used by professionals throughout the field, including university training programs.
Learning Objectives: Describe the textbook’s philosophical content; Describe author rationale for selecting chapter content; Identify three ways book content expanded from the previous edition
