Typically, this is an app on an iPad or a cell phone, but this may be too high for students with multiple disabilities. Apps can be used, but sometimes finding ones that are both age and developmentally appropriate can be a challenge. Toys can also be included in the area of technology – but toys that are age appropriate may not meet the students where they are developmentally, so adaptations may need to be made. Depending on the form of communication, low tech. or high tech. can be introduced. This presentation will look at the use of technology with students that have multiple disabilities. Objectives/outcomes:Participants will be able to take away ways to incorporate technology with their students who have multiple disabilities.Participants will be able to determine appropriate apps for the iPad.Participants will learn ways to adapt toys/other items using technology |
